‘Tis the season, friends – for gigs, gigs, gigs! As I’m sure many of you have gathered, Sweet Scarlet LOVES the holiday season. Not only do we get to perform a lot, but we also relish in the time we get to spend with our families and friends. Including the family and friends that have been joining us at our many performances!
Our first performance of the season was a quick appearance at a North Shore Community Foundation event at the end of November. We sang 5 songs, including 3 Christmas tunes, for their lovely and supportive audience. And then later that same evening, we headed to a popular Lynn Valley location – the End of the Line General Store for one of their annual Christmas Shopping Nights.
After that festive start to our season, we had another eventful weekend, with an additional two performances on December 6th and 7th. The Friday night saw us at the popular North Vancouver music series, Friday Night Live at Lynn Valley United Church, performing to an almost full house. And Saturday night saw us as special guests at the annual Vancouver Thunderbird Chorus holiday concert, ‘Tis the Season in Burnaby. Despite a few sickies in the group, and a sprained/fractured ankle for one member, we still managed to have a fabulous time and put on a couple lovely and well-received shows!
This weekend, it’s off to the Sunshine Coast for a big performance for the Pender Harbour Music Society. We performed for this community back in 2017 and had a BLAST! The audience was such a dream – supportive, keen and enthusiastic – so we are really looking forward to attending!
Of course, we can’t forget about our BIG self-presented show, happening at 2pm on Saturday, December 21st at the Blueshore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts at Capilano University. This is the one we’ve been prepping for and looking forward to since the summer – so don’t miss out! Tickets are still available on Eventbrite!
