Sweet Scarlet had a very busy Spring/Summer season singing at various night markets, festivals, and other gigs around town. One special gig we performed was at Camp Goodtimes in Maple Ridge. Sweet Scarlet performed at Loon Lake for families and children who are affected by cancer. It was a magical place and we wanted to send a big thank you to the Canadian Cancer Society for sending us this picture to capture this amazing event for us.
In other news…Christmas in October! Can you believe it? No way! But it is true! In fact, for Sweet Scarlet, Christmas songs have been making an appearance since June! Unable to contain our love for the shimmery, sparkly, red and green, peppermint-laced songs, we debuted two holiday pieces at our final concert of the Spring/Summer season and they were a hit!
This past weekend, Sweet Scarlet opened up their home (well, one of our member’s homes) to a packed audience of old and new fans to share our Spring/Summer repertoire. Sweet Scarlet sang their hearts out and enjoyed meeting new fans over a cupcake or two. It was so exciting to perform for a room that was buzzing with energy and choral appreciation. Our “In the House” show was a success and definitely something we are planning on making an annual event.
Some pics of the set-up of our show this past weekend (and yes, those are brownies with crushed mint Girl Guide cookies on top! Yum!)
After debuting two holiday teasers, Sweet Scarlet is now rehearsing Christmas music at full-tilt in preparation for our upcoming holiday show. Our full-length Christmas show will be a Sunday matinee on Dec. 14th, 2014 at 2pm at the PAL Studio Theatre in Coal Harbour. Tickets will be available soon so stay tuned!. It’s going to be a great show filled with Christmas cheer, some choreography (or choral-ography!), and sentimental holiday tunes that are sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.
We look forward to seeing you this up-coming holiday season,
Love, the Scarlettes xox
